Gaps in the prevention and diagnosis of heart and vascular disease in women exist for many reasons. Multiple challenges include recognizing unique symptoms, performing effective diagnostic testing, modifying patients’ lifestyle behaviors, and recognizing that disease may progress differently in women compared to men.
